After two years of paying down medical bills and struggling to keep the house, asking for help does seem, at the very least, logical.
I work at home (copywriter) and my husband drives truck but has suffered severe work shortages during the early part of the year due to economy, and this has left us in a lurch. We were on a roll, paying down and off debt left and right, but things came to a standstill, and we've been playing catchup since June. We need help paying on 2 hospital bills (one for me, one for my daughter), 1 ER visit, and the past due heating oil account.
We're not on public assistance, we live on a mind-blowing, ever-changing budget that changes from one week to the next. I'm not too proud to ask for help because, frankly, I am tired of being perceived as a deadbeat because I can't write out a check for the full amount due on these bills.
